Best Cream E-liquid of 2017 | ZAMPLEBOX E-liquid Awards

Mar 11, 2024Updated Sep 17, 20263 min readAwards

Frankie Fatback from Five-O took Best Cream E-Liquid in the 2017 ZampleBox E-Liquid Awards, and the name tells you what you are in for. It tastes every bit as rich and indulgent as it sounds.

The flavor is all about creamy strawberries. Picture falling through clouds of strawberries and cream into a bottomless milkshake, and you are close.

Short version: Frankie Fatback by Five-O won Best Cream E-Liquid of 2017 with a rich strawberries-and-cream milkshake profile. Five-O is not sold in our shop today, but cream and strawberry flavors in the same style are.

Why it won

Cream flavors live or die on texture. A good one is smooth, sweet and full without tasting heavy, and the fruit has to come through the cream instead of getting buried in it. Frankie Fatback’s mix of creamy strawberry and milkshake hit that balance and took the category.

Strawberries and cream is a classic pairing for a reason. The fruit’s bright, slightly tart edge keeps the cream from tasting flat, and the cream softens the fruit into something smooth enough to vape all day.

It is also part of a pattern. Strawberry shows up in several 2017 winners, including our Best Milk and Best Custard picks. Add strawberry to a creamy base, and people tend to love it.

Cream, custard or milk?

These three dessert styles overlap, but they are not the same:

  • Cream: smooth and sweet, often paired with fruit or vanilla.
  • Custard: richer and thicker, with an eggy depth.
  • Milk: lighter and closer to a flavored drink, as in strawberry or banana milk.

Frankie Fatback sits in the cream camp with a milkshake twist. Knowing the difference helps when you read flavor descriptions, and if you like one of these styles, the other two are worth a try.

Finding a flavor like it today

Five-O is not sold in our shop, so this award stands as a record of the 2017 results and a guide to the style. To find something in the same spirit, look for strawberry paired with cream, vanilla or milkshake notes.

  • Let it rest. Creamy juices often improve with a short steep.
  • Watch your coil. Sweeter blends can wear coils faster, so if the flavor fades, check when to change your vape coils.
  • Check the PG/VG ratio. It shapes the throat hit and the vapor, so pick a blend that suits your device. What are PG and VG? explains the basics.

In the Zamplebox Club, rate cream and strawberry high in your flavor profile, and your monthly box will lean that way. You can swap any bottle before your box ships.
