Eleaf iStick 100W TC: Is It Still Good?

ELeaf iStick 100w TC, Is it Still Good?

Every so often a new mod launches, everyone buys one, and the hype is enormous. A few months later, the excitement fades. Our After the Hype series asks the question that matters once the noise dies down: is the device still good?

This episode looked at the Eleaf iStick 100W TC through a review from Vaping with Twisted 420. The verdict: it passed the test of time.

Short version: After the launch buzz faded, the Eleaf iStick 100W TC still held up, and our answer to whether it was still good was a confident yes. We don’t carry this mod today, but the checklist below works for any older device.

What After the Hype is about

Launch hype can make any device look great. The real test comes months later, when the early reviews are old news and people have lived with the mod every day. Does the fire button still feel right? Has the firmware kept up? Would you still recommend it to a friend?

That is the lens this series brings to popular gear, and the iStick 100W TC was a natural candidate.

The Eleaf iStick 100W TC

Eleaf’s iStick family was one of the best-known box mod lines of its time. The 100W TC version paired up to 100 watts of power with temperature control, and its firmware could be upgraded, so it could pick up improvements after release. That kind of support is one reason a mod can stay useful long after launch.

So, did it pass the test of time? We sure think so. The full review from Vaping with Twisted 420 is in the video.

Is your older mod still good? A quick checklist

  • Fire button and controls: They should click cleanly every time, with no sticking or double-firing.
  • 510 connection: The center pin should sit flush and spring back, and atomizers should screw on without grinding. A dirty connection can make resistance readings jump around.
  • Resistance readings: Stable readings matter even more in temperature control mode, because TC relies on them.
  • Batteries: If your mod takes removable cells, check every wrap for tears and retire old or damaged batteries. If the battery is built in and the runtime has dropped a lot, it may be time to retire the device.
  • Firmware: If the maker offers updates, make sure you’re on the latest version.
  • Screen and casing: Cracks, loose panels or a flickering display are signs of wear.
