Nebula 100W TC Mod – Device Review

The Vaporesso Nebula 100W TC was the first mod in our relaunched Device Reviews series, and it earned solid marks. Chris gave it a B+, Ian gave it a B, and when we asked whether they would be likely to buy one, the answer was yes.
Here is what the Nebula offered, how its battery options and temperature control worked, and what our reviewers made of it. We don’t sell the Nebula today, so treat this as a record of how it stacked up when it was new.
Short version: A sleek temperature control mod that ran up to 100 watts on a 26650 battery or 80 watts on an 18650. Grades: Chris B+, Ian B. Likely to purchase: yes.
Specs at a glance
- Power: 1 to 100 watts with a 26650 battery, or 1 to 80 watts with an 18650
- Temperature control: nickel, titanium and stainless steel wire
- Temperature range: 280°F to 600°F
- Finishes at launch: stainless steel and metallic gray, priced at $59.95 when we reviewed it
The big question going in was whether a mod this sleek would hold up to real use. That is what Chris and Ian set out to test.
One mod, two battery sizes
The Nebula’s most practical feature was battery flexibility. A 26650 cell is wider than an 18650 and typically holds more charge, and it unlocked the Nebula’s full 100 watts. With an 18650, the mod topped out at 80 watts, which is still plenty for many tanks.
Whichever size you use, buy batteries from a reputable source, check the wraps for tears before every install, and replace any cell that is dented or damaged. Our guide to recommended batteries for vaping covers what to look for, and this battery safety refresher is worth a read too.
How temperature control works
In temperature control (TC) mode, the mod watches how the coil’s resistance changes as it heats up. Nickel, titanium and stainless steel change resistance in a predictable way, so the mod can estimate the coil’s temperature and cut back power before it passes the limit you set.
The practical upside is fewer dry, burnt-tasting hits when your wick starts to run low. Standard kanthal wire does not work in TC mode, so you need one of the supported wires. If coil wire is new to you, start with our introduction to vape wire, and read what a dry hit is to see what TC helps you avoid.
The verdict
| Reviewer | Grade |

| Chris | B+ |
| Ian | B |
Both reviewers came away positive, and the answer to the big question, likely to purchase, was yes. For the first mod in the relaunched series, that was a strong start. The full breakdown is in the video review.
