Expert Note:
Use special caution when using Li-ion (Lithium-ion) batteries. Make sure you have enough knowledge of these batteries in charging, discharging, assembly and storage before use. Always charge on a fire-proof surface. Never leave charging batteries unattended. Do not use any rechargeable battery or battery charger if any damage is visible. Always store and transport rechargeable cells in a safe container. Dispose of all battery cells and chargers at local vape shops or radio shacks.
When should you replace your battery?
- When you notice your batteries draining earlier and more often than usual without increasing wattage.
- When you notice a significant voltage drop when using a mechanical/unregulated mod.
- If your charger will no longer get to 4.20V before stopping.
- Physical damage to the metal top or can of the battery. Dents and scrapes should not be ignored!
- If battery vents and leaks fluid, even the smallest amount. Continuing to use a battery after it has vented can lead to the battery overheating and possibly going into thermal runaway and bursting.
- If the battery has rusted. A few small spots are okay but if they are causing the wrap to “bubble"" up replace the battery.
- If the battery has been discharged below 2.0V for an extended period of time, it is best to replace it.
- There is no specific schedule for replacing vaping batteries. Vapers who use their batteries at high power levels or put a lot of stress on their batteries may need to replace them every few months, or even sooner. Low power vapers will usually get a longer life out of their batteries.
- Always recycle batteries properly. Electronic, home improvement stores, and vape shops will accept your batteries for recycling. It is recommended to give the battery a couple of wraps in any kind of tape to insulate it from any metal it might touch.
- You do not need to replace a battery if it is dropped, as long as there is no physical damage.
