How to Make a Vape Tornado
The vape tornado is one of the easiest vape tricks to master. In this video, our friend Sage Prengel, known on Instagram as @aprengelchip, shows you how it’s done. It’s an entry-level trick, so if you’re new to vape tricking, this is a good place to start.

How the trick works
A vape tornado starts with a thick cloud laid down on a flat, smooth surface, like a tabletop. A quick sweep of your hand beside the cloud sets the vapor spinning, and it lifts into a small, twisting funnel. Sage walks through the exact technique in the video, so watch it a few times before you try it yourself.
Tips for a better tornado
- Use dense vapor. E-liquids with more VG make thicker clouds that hold together. See What Are PG and VG?
- Pick the right surface. A clean, smooth, flat table works best.
- Kill the drafts. Fans, vents and open windows scatter the cloud before it can spin.
- Practice the motion. Try the hand movement without vapor first, so it’s smooth when it counts.
- Pace yourself. Trick practice means a lot of puffs, so keep an eye on your nicotine intake and consider a lower strength for practice sessions.
