How to Build a Vape Cannon!
Every action movie has a police chief who calls the hero a loose cannon. We wanted a cannon of our own, the kind that fires vapor.
Vaping is fun. Vape tricks are cool. Vape cannons are both. We spent some time at the hardware store picking up everything we needed to build one that shoots big vapor rings. It turned out to be easy and a good time, and the video shows how you can make your own.

How a vape cannon works
A vape cannon runs on the same idea as a classic air vortex cannon, a favorite hands-on physics demo. You fill a container with vapor, then give it a sharp push or tap. The burst of air leaves through a round opening as a spinning ring, and the vapor makes that ring visible as it travels.
The size of the opening shapes the ring, so a bigger hole makes a bigger ring. A clean, even cut around the hole helps the ring keep its shape.
Tips for better rings
- Fill it up. The more vapor inside the cannon, the easier the rings are to see.
- Use thicker vapor. E-liquids with more VG make denser clouds that hold together longer. Learn why in What Are PG and VG?
- Find still air. Fans, air conditioning and open windows break rings apart before they get far.
- Tap, don’t shove. A quick, firm tap works better than a long, slow push.
