Let’s Learn the Shark Bend!

Start with the basics
The shark bend builds on O’s, so get those down first. If you haven’t yet, start with our guide to blowing vape cheerios, then come back once you can blow rings consistently. Sage’s video takes it from there.
Tips for practicing any vape trick
- Thicker vapor helps. E-liquids with more VG make denser vapor that holds its shape longer. Learn why in What Are PG and VG?
- Use a setup built for vapor. Direct-lung devices usually produce more vapor than tight mouth-to-lung pods. Our guide to sub-ohm vaping explains the difference.
- Practice where the air is still. Drafts and fans break up vapor before a trick can take shape.
- Pace yourself. Trick practice takes a lot of puffs, so keep an eye on your nicotine intake and consider a lower strength for practice sessions.
- Be considerate. Practice at home or where vaping is allowed, and never blow vapor at people who don’t vape.
Once you nail the shark bend, it makes a great trick to show off to friends who vape.
Where things stand now
Vape tricks are still a fun part of the hobby, and the basics in this video haven’t changed. Where you can practice has: many states and cities restrict vaping in public places, and those rules change often, so check yours before you head outside.
