ZampleBox @ ECC Vape Expo 2016
In 2016, the ZampleBox team flew down to LA for the ECC Vape Expo, and it was awesome. We met some of the best e-liquid makers around, hung out with plenty of fellow vapers and generally had a great time. We also filmed it.
The plan was to bring the show to everyone who could not make the trip, with interviews, e-liquid tastings and other fun videos released in the days that followed. It all started with a preview.

What ECC was
ECC, short for the Electronic Cigarette Convention, was a vape show in Southern California where brands brought their newest juices and hardware and fans came to try them. For a team that curated e-liquid for a living, it was a chance to meet the people behind the bottles in person.
What we brought home
The footage was planned as a series of videos:
- Interviews with e-liquid makers and fellow vapers
- E-liquid tastings
- Other fun moments from the show

Back to the show floor
We went back to ECC in 2018 to celebrate our E-Liquid Awards, which you can read about in ECC 2018: Intro to Our Vaping Awards. Ian and Chris also compared the vape expos they had been to in ZampleTalk Ep. 46.
Shows like ECC were where much of the vape community met face to face. Makers got instant feedback on new flavors, and fans got to put faces to the brands they vaped every day.
Where things stand now
The vape show scene looks different today. Every vaping product sold in the US needs FDA premarket authorization, many products are still under review, and the federal minimum age to buy vaping products is 21. If you plan to attend a vape event, check its age policy and the local rules first.
