South Park on Vaping

South Park on Vaping

South Park has never been shy about poking fun at, well, everyone, and vapers were no exception. When an episode put vaping in the spotlight, we had to watch.

Luckily, Ian was a huge South Park fan. He and the crew sat down with a section of the episode, which was new at the time, and had fun reacting to the jokes. If you like silly humor, you will probably like this one.

Why vaping made good material

South Park is an animated satire for adults that has been skewering trends and public debates for decades. Once vaping went mainstream, it was an easy target, from the big clouds and the gear to the flavor names and the strong opinions on every side.

Laughing at ourselves

Most vapers we know can take a joke. Parody works by exaggerating things that are at least a little true, like a shelf full of mods or a cloud that fills a room, and watching it together was a good reminder not to take the hobby too seriously.

It is also a reminder of how vaping looks from the outside. A little etiquette goes a long way: vape only where it is allowed, and keep your clouds away from people who don’t vape. Our vaping etiquette guide covers the basics.

Where things stand now

Vaping still turns up in pop culture, and the public debate about it continues. For facts rather than punchlines, check current guidance at fda.gov and cdc.gov. Nicotine is addictive, and vaping products are for adults 21 and over.
