What is e-liquid?

What is E-Liquid? 

E-Liquid or e-Juice is the liquid that you put in your personal vaporizer. This liquid is then heated by the atomizer and turned into a vapor, which is inhaled. E-liquid is composed of  4 ingredients. Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerine, Nicotine, and Flavoring. 

PG (Propylene Glycol)

Propylene glycols are chemicals made by the reaction of propylene oxide with water. Propylene glycols have had an excellent reputation for safe use in a wide range of consumer products, including food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, animal feed as well as industrial applications.

Vaping Purpose: PG gives more of a “throat hit"" sensation and carries the flavoring very well because of the bonding properties.

Misconceptions: Propylene glycol is the same as Ethylene glycol... WRONG! Propylene glycol is NOT the same as Ethylene glycol - which is toxic.

Medical Uses: Used in asthma inhalers and nebulizers.

VG (Vegetable Glycerine)

Vegetable Glycerine is a simple polyol (sugar alcohol) compound. It is a colorless, odorless, viscous liquid that is widely used in pharmaceutical formulations. It is used in toothpaste, cosmetics, shampoos, soaps,  pharmaceuticals, and other household items.

Vaping Purpose: VG is thicker, gives less throat hit, but will produce more vapor.

Misconceptions: Vegetable Glycerine is the same as vegetable oil.... INCORRECT! Vegetable Glycerine is NOT the same as vegetable oil!

Medical Uses: Low toxicity. Used in medications and toothpaste.

Flavoring

Food grade flavorings that were originally used for baking or candy making. All reputable e-liquid companies use food grade materials that are approved by USP.

Vaping Purpose: Flavoring enhances the vaping experience so vapers are more likely not to return to smoking.

Misconceptions: Every flavor of e-liquid contains harmful chemicals like diacetyl... NO WAY! Flavorings used in e-liquid do NOT all contain harmful chemicals. Quality manufactures always try to avoid using flavorings containing potentially harmful chemicals.

Medical Uses: These flavorings are used everywhere, from candy to flavor enhancers for water

Nicotine

Pharmaceutical grade pure nicotine is used by all reputable and trusted e-liquid manufacturers. E-liquid is generally categorized in “milligrams"" of nicotine.  Ranging from 0mg up to 24mg,  stronger nicotine will create a stronger throat hit.

Vaping Purpose: Vaping allows us to slowly decrease our nicotine over time.

Misconceptions: Nicotine causes cancer... LIES! Nicotine does not cause cancer, tar causes cancer.

Medical Uses: Nicotine has been is used to treat  Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease.
