What Does Vaping Mean? Here’s What It Means to Us
What does vaping mean? We see that question, and plenty like it, bouncing around the internet all the time. So in this episode of our video series we went back to basics: what vaping actually is, and what it has come to mean to the people who work here.
The short definition
Vaping means inhaling the aerosol, usually called vapor, produced by an electronic device. A battery powers a heating coil, and the coil warms a liquid called vape juice, e-juice or e-liquid until it turns to vapor.
Most vape juice is a mix of propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerin (VG) and flavorings, and most of it also contains nicotine. The same basic idea covers everything from a small disposable to a box mod with a tank.

What it means to us
For us, vaping is more than a device. Over the years it has grown into a huge culture, with its own shows, flavors, slang and inside jokes.
Many of us in this industry came to vaping as adults who used to smoke, and sharing those experiences built real friendships. At times the community has felt like one giant support group. In the video, we talked about that on a personal level and asked viewers what vaping means to them.
