Innokin MVP4 Scion Starter Kit – ZampleBox Device Review
Innokin’s MVP box mods earned a reputation in the vaping world as the Most Valuable Player for reliability and durability. So when the MVP4 Scion Starter Kit arrived, Chris and Ian gave it a full device review to see whether the new kit could stack up to its veteran namesake.
This review is from that time, and we don’t carry the kit in our shop. Read it as a look back at a well-loved line of box mods and a checklist for judging any kit, not as a buying guide.

The MVP legacy
Innokin is one of the longer-running names in vaping hardware, and its MVP line was a go-to for people who wanted a mod that just kept working. The MVP4 Scion Starter Kit paired a new MVP4 box mod with Innokin’s Scion tank, so you got a matched mod and tank in one box.
That kind of reputation sets a high bar. The question in the video was simple: could the MVP4 Scion live up to the MVPs that came before it? Chris and Ian took a deep dive into the kit to find out, and their verdict is in the video.
What to look for in any starter kit
The points Chris and Ian weighed still apply to whatever kit you’re considering:
- Build quality. A starter kit should feel solid in your hand and hold up to everyday use.
- Reliability. The whole appeal of the MVP line was a device you could count on day after day.
- Coils. Replacement coils should be easy to find and simple to change. Our guide on when to change your vape coils explains the signs.
- Ease of use. Clear controls and a simple fill system matter most when you’re new.
Where things stand now
Hardware moves fast, and many adults now start with simple pod systems or disposables instead of a box mod kit. For the kits we liked a little later, see our guide to the best 2019 starter kits. Whatever device you use, the Zamplebox Club can keep it stocked with vape juice picked for your flavor profile, for adults 21 and over.
WARNING: This product contains nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive chemical. For adults 21+ only.
