Beer and Vape Pairings – Pt. 2
Oktoberfest is one of our favorite times of the year, and in 2016 we celebrated with the second round of our beer and vape pairing adventures. The idea was simple: pick a beer, then find an e-liquid whose flavor plays well with it.
This round featured e-liquids from Banzai Vapor, D Squared, G2 Vapor, Good Life Vapor and Z by ZampleBox, one of our house lines at the time. Beer and vaping products are both for adults 21 and over.

The five pairings
- Alaskan Amber from Alaskan Brewing Co. with Pound It by Banzai Vapor
- Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier Dunkel with Banana Slamma by D Squared
- Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Urbock with CARNY4 by G2 Vapor
- Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock with High Five by Good Life Vapor
- Stiegl Radler with Strawberry Lemonade from Z by ZampleBox
What the beers bring
The lineup covered a lot of ground. Alaskan Amber is a malty amber ale. The Weihenstephaner is a dark Bavarian wheat beer, a style known for banana-like yeast notes, so a banana e-liquid was an easy match. Schlenkerla’s Urbock is a smoked beer from Bamberg with a bold, campfire-like character, and Ayinger Celebrator is a rich, dark doppelbock. A radler mixes beer with citrus soda for something light and sweet, a natural partner for strawberry lemonade.
Tips for your own pairings
- Match intensity. Bold, dark beers can stand up to rich dessert flavors, while light beers suit bright fruit vapes.
- Look for a shared note, like banana with a wheat beer or lemonade with a radler.
- Vape only where it is allowed, and check whether the bar or brewery permits it.
- Drink responsibly, and never drive after drinking.
