7 Awesome Things About the ZB Retail Store
Back in 2016, we made a list of seven things we loved about the ZampleBox retail store, the shop that sat alongside our monthly box. A lot has changed since then, but the ideas behind that list still shape how we sell vape juice.
Here is the original list, tightened up, with a note on where each point stands today.
Short version: The 2016 store was built around a big selection, fair prices, member perks, easy checkout, personal recommendations, strict age checks and our own Z by ZampleBox line. Today the same thinking lives in our vape juice shop and the Zamplebox Club.
The seven things we loved in 2016
1. The selection
Plenty of e-liquid stores had a good range, but we wanted ours to be the place where you could find almost anything. At the time, the store carried thousands of different juices.
Today: you can browse the shop by flavor or by brand, and disposable vapes sit alongside the bottles.
2. The price
We wanted the store to be one of the most affordable around, and ZampleBox members got an extra discount on top of our regular prices. Why? Because we love our members.
Today: current offers are collected on our deals page, and Zamplebox Club boxes start at $23.99 a month for three 30 ml bottles.
3. Free shipping for members
Nothing sours a good deal like reaching checkout and seeing shipping nearly double the total. We wanted to put an end to that, so members got free shipping on domestic retail orders.
Today: we ship from Vista, California, to US addresses. Current rates and delivery details are on our shipping page. Under the PACT Act, carriers require an adult signature for vape deliveries, so plan to be around when your order arrives.
4. The convenience
People like to joke about convenience-store juice. We were not a convenience store, but we did want to be a convenient one. Based on your flavor profile, community reviews and popularity, the store recommended juices that matched your taste, so you did not have to spend hours hunting for the gems.
Today: that idea is the heart of the Zamplebox Club. You rate flavor notes, and every bottle picked for your box comes with a short reason. Here is how to perfect your flavor profile.
5. The ease
We kept account setup, age verification and checkout simple. Once your account was ready, you added what you wanted to your cart and checked out. Getting the juice you wanted had never been faster.
Today: checkout still includes age verification, and club members manage everything from one dashboard: swap bottles, add extras to the next box, change the date, skip a month, pause or cancel anytime.
6. We follow the law
We cared about keeping vapor products available to adults while the rules kept changing. That is why we built a strong age verification system: buying e-liquid online should be simple for adults, and our products should never reach anyone underage. Vaping is for adults, full stop.
Today: the federal minimum age for all tobacco and vaping products has been 21 since December 2019, and we sell only to adults 21 and over. Flavor and shipping rules vary by state and city and change often, so check the rules where you live.
7. Z by ZampleBox
Our own e-liquid line, Z by ZampleBox, launched in the retail store. A local e-liquid mixologist designed the flavors using survey data from vapers, and the juice was produced in a professional e-liquid lab.
Today: Z by ZampleBox, also known as Z-Liquid, is no longer part of our lineup, so this point is now a piece of our history. You can look back at it in our Z-Liquid look book.
What has not changed
All seven points came down to one goal: make it easy for adults who vape to find juice they will actually enjoy. That is still the goal.
