Earth Day | E-Liquids That Promote Organic
For Earth Day, we featured Virgin Vapor, then one of our newest e-liquid partners. The company built its line around organic flavorings and vegan, GMO-free ingredients with no sugar or gluten, and owner Annette Rogers answered our questions.
Short version: “Organic” describes how ingredients are grown and processed. It is not a health claim about inhaling them.
Why organic?
Annette said the idea came to her while she was vaping a bright pink bubblegum e-liquid and wondered what made it that color. Her research convinced her the e-liquid business was like the Wild West, with few rules and few answers about what was in the bottle, so she decided to give vapers a choice.
Virgin Vapor launched in 2010, which Annette called old for an e-liquid company. She described the brand as a labor of love and a constant pursuit of quality.
What went into the bottles
According to Annette, Virgin Vapor e-liquids contained no artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners, and the company listed every ingredient on its product pages. The list was short:
- pharmaceutical-grade kosher nicotine
- organic pharmaceutical-grade vegetable glycerin
- distilled water
- certified organic flavors
Notice there’s no propylene glycol on that list. Our guide to PG and VG explains how each base affects flavor and vapor. Annette also said the bottles were glass, which is easy to recycle, and that the company would never use anything else.
Flavors from the box
Virgin Vapor flavors that shipped in ZampleBox at the time included Kona Coffee Milkshake, Death by Chocolate and a tobacco blend. The line isn’t sold on our site today, so treat these as a flavor guide: if they sound good, browse our coffee, dessert and tobacco vape juice.
Where things stand now
Whatever you vape, disposal matters on Earth Day and every other day. Check your local program’s rules for empty bottles, and never put batteries, disposable vapes or devices in the trash or recycling bin; take them to a battery drop-off or household hazardous waste site. Every vaping product also needs FDA authorization through the PMTA process, and federal law limits sales to adults 21 and over.
